Explosives Preparations

PRE-WEAKENINGHoles are drilled into pre-determined concrete columns and walls within the building to allow the placement of the explosives. There are also key parts of the structure removed to assist with the collapse. This is commonly known as pre-weakening. These works can sometimes be quite noisy but all appropriate measures will be taken where possible to keep the noise to a minimum. Regular noise monitoring will also take place.

Once these works have been completed, the explosives are placed in position ready for demolition.
